Great Question….since the base molecule is silicone based it makes the “shield-like” coating somewhat water resistant. Therefore as long the daily cleaning is performed with cleaner/disinfectants that are not very high on the PH scale the coating is safe. Most bleaches or over the counter cleaners will not immediately remove the coating. The coating actually bonds to the surface and becomes “one” with the surface. However, it will eventually come off with wear. Therefore, we recommend a Max-Defense treatment quarterly, semi-annually, or annually depending on the type of facility and traffic.
